Cali for ni Yay!

So since I've been flying so much I racked up a pretty good number of miles and points on the credit card! I decided it was time to put those to good use and go on a vacation! Ha! Like I don't get enough vacation time!!

A few months ago I got a call from my best buddy Kelci saying that she was going to be moving to San Diego! I could not have been happier for her! I know she has wanted to moved out to California for so long and now she finally was able to. I told her I would come visit her as soon as I got the tchance... Well memorial weekend was coming up so I decided to go visit her... Only one thing, if I have a long weekend there is one other special person I'd want to spend it with.

Called up Kelci to see if she would mind if it would be ok if jake met us out there for a few days. Of course she said yes! Woohoo! Two of my favorite people in one place! How can I not be happy about that!! Annnnd get to be in the gorgeous California  sunshine! Yes please! 

I got to fly out Friday morning and jake was coming in late friday night. Which gave Kelci and I the day to run around like hooligans! And did we ever. My flight got in around 9am and we were at the bar having a beer by 11. My time it was 1 in the afternoon so it seemed reasonable!!!

Kelci is one of the best friends a girl can ask for. She doesn't have drama, she likes to have fun, and she has the biggest  heart in the world! Every time we are together we have a blast. Most of the time it's after a few too many adult beverages but that's what makes out lives awesome!!!

We went down to the bike shop and rented a bike for me to ride around for 10 bucks a day! Kelci already had one and I was already just about over the waking situation only after one trip down to the beach!

That night jake finnnnalllllyyy got there which it seemed to take forever. Probably because I was so dang anxious to see him!!! Not gonna lie even after all the drinks we had that day I was still nervous just not as much as normal. You know, liquid courage!!! We were late to the airport, of course. I felt so bad because I am always waiting inside for him and this time it didn't feel the same that he was outside waiting for me. But I got a big hug and a kiss! Smiles forever. Kelci and jake me and we were off! We had the most amazing weekend!

There were only about two things that could have been different that whole weekend. We could have stayed at the beach longer, don't feel like we got to soak up the sunshine enough. And We could have gotten a lot more sleep. I have never come back more tired from one vacation my whole life. Holy cow! Oh and one other thing... I wish I could have spent more quality time with both Kelci and jake! Need me some girl time and my man time! 

On a small hopefully insignificant note the goodbye with jake was kind of strange. Maybe because we just dropped him off at the curb, which I wish I would have went inside and said bye, it was just hard to do with your half drunk friend with you.  Lol love you Kelci! I don't know something just didn't feel right about the goodbye and I did not like it. It was like something happened, a little flame went out or something I don't know but it made me super upset! I hope things are ok with us. 

I just know that I'm super excited for my trip out to Indiana in the next week and a half. I just want to spend time with jake just us. No partying just the two of us. We haven't got to do that and I know we need it. We've been on all these fun "dates" /vacations but I think it's time for us to settle in make sure we get to know each other a little more, get closer. I just hope that the next trip that I get to go up there to see him is like that. It's just so hard when I'm there. There are so many people that I want to see and the fact that the trip is for Grant's canoe trip makes it that much harder. 

Tubing Wars and Rangers Games!

This was actually a really good weekend. John and Leah invited me to go out to a Rangers game with their family. JT, John's son was in town so we all went to the game. It was nice to spend time with them. I feel like family when we all get together but you know its just not the same as blood. It does help the homesickness though.

Also, a few weekends ago Taylor and I had met a few guys at cowboys who were actually pretty cool guys, and they can handle our potty humor so it makes it better. Taylor knew them from going up to Cowboys a bunch, then we realized with both knew them and ended up going out on Tom's boat. It was a super fun day. We headed up to lake lewisville and had a drink at the bar before we met up with the guys. While we were standing there waiting for them we met some pretty chill girls who were really sweet. They invited us to come back and hang out at the lake, I guess one of them has a big cruiser, her parents to anyway. 

Anyway, we got out on the lake and I wanted to wake board, which we did. I brought my little board with me but I left in the car, whoops! So I used theirs, the bindings were huge so my teeny feet were slipping all over the place but it was still a lot of fun. One day I think I will get a boat. Next year maybe. Maybe I will go back to the Truck, Boat then a house thing... Yeah... 

We went out on the tubes and played tubing wars. Two tubes behind the boat and you have to knock the other person off their tube. So much fun! Until the guys thought it would be good to start untying swimsuits to get us girls off. Not cool. Not Cool. Overall it was an awesome weekend. we got to meet new people and had a great day out in the sun!

I just want to give a little shout out to my girl Taylor. Seriously, I dont know what I would do without you here! ITs good to have a little piece of home here in Texas with me. And the fact that you think potty humor is just as hilarious as I do, we make the perfect match!

Thanks for dragging my butt out to the dance halls so I can attempt to learn that two step crap. I think I am finally getting better at it.

Birthday Surprises

So Jake's birthday is coming up and I had to think of something to make him. I like homemade gifts, they are more special! I could not think of a dang THING to make. Then one day on that little magical gift from heaven called pinterest. I saw the coolest thing ever. String Art... and had the most genius idea ever! And he always says he doesnt have any pictures of us other than whats on his phone. Soooo here is what I came up with....

Stained the wood all by myself and nailed each and every one of those nails on my own!

Had a little bit of a hard time letting this go! I wanted to keep it for myself! 

When we were in Arizona I gave him this little gift because I knew it would be too expensive to send in the mail.

A few days before his birthday I called just about every bakery in Indianapolis to find a place that could make a cake and deliver it to him in the next two days. There weren't many of them but I finally found one that would make the cake and deliver it to the shop. Score!

Happy Birthday Baby! I cant wait for one day to celebrate it with you while living in the same state!!

Homesick

Home Sweet Home

I had been feeling pretty homesick in the month of April. Even though I got to go to Austin with Jake and did a few other things on the weekends. I had no roommates living with me at the time so coming home to an empty house always put me down in the dumps. I decided a trip home was needed because I wouldnt have made it otherwise!!

I was talking to Jake about it on the phone one night that I wanted to go home and just spend time with my family. I didnt care if I got to see my friends or anything I just needed momma and poppa! He said he wanted to go with me! Uh What!!! Of course you can come and hang out with my family!!!!!!

Going home to see both my parents is always such a hard thing to do because they live on opposite sides of Phoenix, at least 50 minutes away from each other. I dont have a car there so getting between point A and point B is always a pain and dont even get me started on the Holidays! I have got to figure something out with that.

Anyway, I told my mom that I was going to stay up at my dads house both Friday and Saturday night, since I was only there for the weekend, and the majority of the time I stay at her house when I come in town because all my friends are close to her. Like I said, this time I just wanted to see Family. She was ok with it and was sweet enough to let me drive her car all weekend. Thanks mom!

My mom picked up jake from the airport because his flight was a few hours earlier than mine was. Of course she was late, runs in the family, can never be on time....deal with it.... He came and picked me up from the airport about midnight. I was so excited to see him, I just wanted to push everyone off the plane and go run out to him! Well. I couldnt even wait to get my bags, I ran right out to the car, jumped in and gave him a big ol' kiss!!! Gosh! Even though I had seen him just a few weeks before I was in heaven again. The smile thats always there just gets bigger and my heart beats just a little bit faster.

We drove up to my dads house hung with him but by that time it was so late we were ready for bed. We hit the sack, in the morning we got up and went out to the lake. Man it felt good to be there, home away from home.  My dad's buddy took us out on his boat, they had jetskis too so it was fun!!!

On Sunday went over to my Mom's house to celebrate all kinds of things, me being in town, my brothers birthday, mothers day, cinco de mayo.... There is something else, I cant remember.... But all of my moms side of the family came over, grandma, grandpa, my aunts and uncles, my cousins. It was really nice to see everyone since I didnt get to see them at easter time.

Then it was time to go. It seriously gets harder and harder and harder to leave Jake at the airport. One day I'm just not going to let him get on the plane, or im just not going to go home. I went from being on a super high to just crushed in a matter of a few steps. Hate that feeling. I keep saying prayers that one day we can be closer! 

Housing Situation

Just a little update. I am still going to be staying at the same house for another year. Decided it would be best for me to just rent another year and hold off on buying home. Paid off the truck and now I start to save.

I got two new girl roommates, Rachel and Melissa. I am pretty excited for our little home! It will be a blast!

Rachel works at chuys mexican grill and she has a dog named ruger. He is a golden doodle? I might have got that wrong but he is golden retriever mixed with poodle. I havent yet got to meet him but indy and I are super excited to have another friend around. She was lonely after levi left. She will be happy again!!!

Melissa works as a bartender at a golfcourse.

Good for me I could go get some food and drinks at discount! and play golf, if I knew how... Maybe I'll have Jake teach me one day. The guy is turning into Tiger Woods over there!
