Workman's Creek

My intentions were to have a big camping trip with lots of people but always happens that just a few people show up. Thats ok though, more smores for us! This trip we decided to go up to Workman's Creek because of the easy access and what we THOUGHT would be low enough elevation to not have any snow. We were wrong...

There was snow everywhere and at night it was freezing! During the day it got warm enough to be in shorts and a t-shirt though, which made playing in the snow a lot of fun! After getting up Saturday morning we hiked up the road a little bit to go check out the waterfall. It was flowing fast and the views with the snow on the hill was breathtaking.

Our friends Phil and Emily came up with us Friday night and then Saturday afternoon Tisha, AJ, Steve and Stephanie came up. We had a blast making smores and telling stories around the campfire - kinda cliche but thats what we did.

Of course we brought Indy and Levi. They had so much fun in the snow, we were throwing snowballs and they would jump to catch them. It was pretty funny to watch. I think Levi liked the snow a little more than Indy did. Indy would rather lay in the tent and be lazy...

Levi playing in the snow! She loves it!

Luckily we made it easy on ourselves for food. We pre-cooked everything Thursday night so all we had to do was heat it up. Made for some awesome breakfast burritos, homemade chili and some ribs for Saturday night.  Too bad Justin got a little heartburn from all the yummy food, maybe next time we'll bring some tums!

Getting ready to cook up some grub!

Finger lickin good'!
We all got a little sunburned during the day on Saturday which made Saturday night a lot more cold than it probably was but at least our bellies were full! After a late night by the campfire we didnt wake up the next morning until around 11am. We hung out for a little while then packed up and headed home. The ride home was a little rough for me, had one too many beers the night before but overall it was a great trip and we are so happy that everyone got to come up.

Hopefully we will get to take another camping trip here in the next weeks or so but who knows. The Texas move is getting close! Eeek! 36 more days of beautiful Arizona!

Delta Surprise

We were planning on getting ready for our camping trip for the upcoming weekend. Justin told me that he would be over to my house a little later that he was driving something other than his truck because him and Kyle had "a little to much fun" the other night. I was instantly worried. I thought "Oh gosh, what did he do?!" When I got home I was surprise to find that he had purchased a 1978 Dodge Delta with only 50k original miles.

Getting into this thing is a blast from the past. Its like it just arrived from the 70's. Everything in it is original with a couple new additions, like a microwave and refrigerator. Needless to say, after my initial shock of "Where are you going to put it?!" I am pretty excited to take this thing around. Justin says it has been one of his and his friends "dreams" to have something to take it up and down the coast. I will be the first one to admit, this thing belongs on the beach. Its "totally rad bro."

He is talking about taking a trip with his buddies up and down the coast in it while I am in Europe for my graduation trip. They will have such a blast! I am so excited for them!
