Jake's Visit to Texas

So I said I met someone in Indiana right? We text non stop from the time I left Indy to the time he came to visit me. Yup thats right he came to visit! Let me tell you about butterflies and nervous picking him up at the airport! I was so happy! We left the airport and went down town Fort Worth to Hyena's to watch a little stand up comedy. We sat front row, it was a little nerve racking, they always make fun of the people up front! Luckily we sat next to Drunky McDrunkerson who didnt know WHAT was going on. Needless to say we were safe!

In the morning we got up and went to Rahr Brewery for their sample day. $10 a person and you get a Rahr Brewery mug and 3 beers! What a deal, except I could only have 2 since I was driving. It was really nice to just stand around and actually talk to Jake, rather than texting all the time. He was there in front of me! It was great!

We left and went down to the stockyards to watch the cattle drive. Which is always entertaining, good Texas experience I guess...

haha we even took a trip to the fort worth "jail" It was fun at the stockyards but it was a little cold to be standing out on the sidewalk watching some longhorns walk by....

We went to dinner and had sushi which was so good as always! Haha after dinner we went straight to Sheplers and bought him a pair of boots. You cant experience Texas without some boots!!! It would be necessary for our night out at Cowboys Dance Hall!!

See our Cute Boots!!!

Me, Jake, Mirta and Taylor all went out to Cowboys and I tried my best to teach Jake to two step but to be completely honest I have no clue what Im doing either so we probably looked like a couple of goons! It was still a good time though!

NEedless to say when it was time to take Jake to the airport I was pretty sad, wished our weekend could last a little longer but we would see each other again soon enough. We already had our next trip planned to Arizona!!!

Indiana New Years

It started to be tradition that Mr. Grant Morris and I would always spend new years together. A few times in Arizona while we were young and then I think in 2005-06?? I came out to Indiana for the first time for new years. Let me tell you about an experience..... Ha we had some great times and great memories that will never be forgotten!

My first Trip to indy - Made friends that will last for forever!
I think this is the last new years we got to spend together... :(
 Always with the boys.

Anyway, this year was just as special. I got to spend it with my indiana boys! Just as it always has been. Although Phil and I got to spend new years together a few times after Grant passed away it wasnt the same not being in Indy. Not only did we have an amazing time being wild hooligans we got to do a lot of other great stuff. We went up to Perfect North and I taught Phil to snow ski! haha now that was entertaining, just wish we had gotten some pictures from it...
Indiana Nights - They dont get better than this!

There is just something about being in Indiana that feels like home, like I am supposed to be there. Always has felt like that, and the fact that I have these great people to share it with makes it that much better. They are my family through and through.

So since I could remember Grant would never let me like any of his friends, it was against the "rules." I would tell him that I liked so and so and he would just get mad at me, get those eyes that just told me no. I think he let me like ONE person ever so this trip when I was there I tried to hold up my end of the deal. Only problem, we go snow skiing and there is this super cutie, Jake. He suggested we party at his house after we go snow skiing, and all I wanted to do was say YES!!!! But trying to play it cool I just giggled like a child. haha We ended up going up to his house after skiing and that started the weekend of "Presidents and Assholes" Gosh we played that game WAY to much! Thank you liver for surviving! I tried my best not to ask too much about Jake while I was there, had a secret little crush goin on! New Years Eve came and I was hoping this guy would be my new years kiss!! Do I sound like a little girl with a crush or what?! Ended getting that kiss, his phone number! YES!! Score! He had to leave early that next morning and I was actually pretty upset we couldnt spend more time together but then the texting started.....

After new years, visited Grants grave with Phil and a New Castle (Love you Buddy). and had to go home. It was was one the best trips that I had been on in a while, no drama just fun, and with the people I love the most with our angel watching over us. Couldnt ask for anything more.

Little Update...

So I pretty much didnt update this for a while. Too much going on, and frankly just too dang lazy. I still have yet to finish the Europe blog... OOOPS! (I will though)

Anyway, little update. Still here in Texas still loving it. Justin and I decided to part ways and he is headed back to Arizona. What an adventure we had :) I have not a single bad thing to say about the man, just we didnt work out. Fate brought us together, fate took us apart. Its just time to start a new chapter in both of our lives and I sincerely hope the best for the both of us.

On a lighter note, Thanksgiving is coming up and I cant wait to go home to see the family. I Was there just a few weeks ago for the most gorgeous wedding for my dear friends Steve and Stephanie Fromm. What a blast, and a few weeks before that, Vegas for the bachelor/bachelorette parties. Needless to say that was probably one of the best weekends I have ever had in Vegas, with the exception that I came home with the most awful stomach ache! Its taken about a month to get over! Too much drinking I think... oopsie daisy, maybe its stress, who knows, probably both.

Other than that just been hanging out a home living life. This week im going to try out a traditional korean bathhouse! They have one in Dallas, worth a try, gonna get a massage and relax from this hectic-ness that has been going on in the last week.

I will try to do my best to post some pictures of the wedding/bachelorette party and other things we've done. Like memorial day when my mom came in town and some other stuff, just not so easy now that its been so long. Plus how do you write about the fun you had with your significant other when they are no longer that. hmmmf. Maybe i will just say the last few months have been a few that I will never forget and I am a lucky girl to have experienced them.... Oh yeah, and God Bless Texas, Ya'll. LOL

Rangers vs. D-Backs

Surprised justin with tickets to the Rangers game, and guess who they were playing! The AZ Diamondbacks! We stopped and ate at steak and shake before the game, which has been on the to do list since we moved here! Same yummy goodness that they have in indiana!

We only saw maybe one other dback fan!! We were surrounded by rangers fans!!

The kid next to us got the biggest hot dog I have ever seen. It had at least 5 hot dogs worth with chili and cheese on top. he ate the WHOLE thing. wasnt looking so great when he left.

Talk about some good seats :)

Firestone 550 - Texas Motor Speedway

So my dad came in town this weekend for the Firestone 550 Indycar race at Texas Motor Speedway. We got a campsite on the speedway grounds so we didnt have to drive home at night after the race (Smart!)

The poor little tree didnt give us much shade but it was enough.
Before the indycar race they had Rallycross which was sooo cool to watch. travis Pastrama! Yeah!

Lining up to start the race!
Meanwhile in the bleachers....... Doing the hula hoop for free stuff!

 Here they Come! Indycar!!
It was pretty hot out but we tried our best to stay cool and refreshed. Refreshments were important!
Like Snow Cones!!! Yumm!!!

 Indycar under the lights! wooo!

They let us go down into the pits after the race to watch all the teams pack up. Refreshments in hand ;)

 Go Ed Carpenter!
If anyone wonders what his heaven will look like. It will be this. Happiest kid around at the races!
Man I have one good looking dad! oh and pretty good photo skills, especially after all day refreshments!

Could you imagine this at 300mph? No thanks.
 Discussing the race probably.
More Discussions while walking back to the tent where we heated up some ribs that we made the day before. They were SOOO good after a long day! fortunately it cooled down just enough to be bearable once the sun went down so it was nice hanging out by the campsite. We played a little catch phrase then hit the sack! Got up early with the sun and headed home!

California Wedding

Went to california for a wedding for justin's cousin. It was really nice to get to meet his side of the family! Got to meet grandma, Aunt's uncles and cousins. I wish we would have been able to stay a little longer to spend more time with them but at least I got to meet them.

When we got in it was rush hour traffic time in LA so we decided to drive up the coast instead of take the freeways.

It was a nice weekend we got to go to the beach for a little but but Ron (Justin's dad) had just had a surgery and didnt want to be in the sun, not only that we didnt have a lot of time to spend at the beach before we had to get on the plane.

Sorry I cant find the pictures from this weekend!
